Capricorn is deep & there's something about Capricorn being the earthy feminine sign of Saturn vs. Aquarius' airy masculine sign of same.Christinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16505916582055310450noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7956743793478887624.post-27833998584558913762012-12-19T18:01:35.180+00:002012-12-19T18:01:35.180+00:00I adore these books & have re-read them almost...I adore these books & have re-read them almost annually for over 20 yrs. Great piece on one of my favorite writers. BTW, I've read most of the others you've listed too. :-) My Moon conj Neptune has happily escaped into these wonderful alternate worlds many, many times.

How so many astrologers can overlook the obvious about Capricorn being feminine earth I just don't know.

Saturn sq Sun here . . . I've always been a great admirer of Tolkien (perhaps also because I was born on the same day).

I think the Moon-Neptune aspect is rather important for his imaginative vision too, as well as being linked to the importance of his Catholic mother for his faith; it seems to me that the Elves' endless longing for a lost home beyond the sea, and its identification with the beaitific figure of Elbereth, is linked to both.

Incidentally (well...), C.S. Lewis, who also lost his mother at an early age, has the Moon closely conjunct Neptune. It's surely no surprise then that longing or sehnsucht plays such a central part in his biography as well.

Perhaps the huge popularity of both resides partly in this aspect, which gives them the ability to transport readers imaginatively and emotionally to a Neptunian paradise.Kasperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09005587551115301935noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7956743793478887624.post-36434812782737213872012-01-08T04:35:20.311+00:002012-01-08T04:35:20.311+00:00I have trouble with the usual blether about Capric...I have trouble with the usual blether about Capricorns too. I think modern astrologers have made some mistakes about Sun signs because of rulership. In other words, just because Cap rules big business and institutions we shouldn't assume that that's what the Sun sign in a personal natal chart is about. A bit garbled but you know what I mean.Christinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16505916582055310450noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7956743793478887624.post-23774018062710415862012-01-05T00:44:58.043+00:002012-01-05T00:44:58.043+00:00It's so good to read something about Capricorn...It's so good to read something about Capricorn that isn't all about ambition, business, dull and boring blah, blah.

Thank you from the bottom of my Capricorn heart:)Christinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01743527086655456100noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7956743793478887624.post-25952961263846357972012-01-04T20:47:13.780+00:002012-01-04T20:47:13.780+00:00I wish I had anything in Capricorn too.
